Manager, Auxiliary Operations

About the Position:
As Manager, the role holder is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity of company identified gas auxiliary operations for construction and maintenance services that include, locals for Boston, Waltham, and Braintree 12003 and Providence 12431 dump, pipe trailer, plate truck deliveries; NE Welding; NE Field Training; NE Tool process operations and the NE Reclamation Yards. This includes serving as the Manager of four direct report Supervisors of designated union personnel to complete established goals and objectives while complying with Company, departmental and Regulatory policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Manage supervisory staff of culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure established goals and objectives are carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
Manage employees to comply with safety standards, policies and processes in order to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
Manage work in compliance with all Company, Federal and State policy and regulatory requirements.
Manage supervisory staff for high performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work in order to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively.
Manage the department budget for the effective and efficient execution of the work plan.
Serve as member of Welding and Tool Committees representing the New England gas operation.
Manage the department Fleet collaborating with Fleet Services and the Transportation Committee for appropriate utilization and replacement of assigned vehicles.
Manage supervisory staff for coordinating identified training for vehicles, equipment and regulatory issues.
Manage supervisory staff for coordinating identified licensing for vehicles and equipment.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' of related experience.
Technically proficient within subject matter and experience of leading a team involved in field support operations activities is required.
Ability and knowledge to develop standard operating procedures for field personnel.
Must have or possess the ability to develop knowledge and understanding of National Grid's policies and processes and how to apply them effectively.
Must have demonstrated or possess the skills to build effective, respectful, working relationships.
